How 3PL Pricing Works
Third-party logistics pricing is component-based — you pay for what your fulfillment operation actually uses. Here are the core cost categories and what each one covers.
Receiving
Charged when your inventory arrives at our warehouse. Covers unloading, counting, quality inspection, and booking into our WMS. Typically charged per carton or per unit depending on volume.
Storage
Monthly fee for the space your inventory occupies. Charged per pallet, bin, or shelf position depending on your product size. Billed at actual usage — no reserved minimums.
Pick & Pack
The core fulfillment fee. Charged per order and covers picking items from shelves, packing in appropriate packaging, labeling, and preparing for carrier collection. Multi-item orders may have a per-item component.
Shipping
Carrier charges passed through at our discounted rates — typically 30–75% below retail. We negotiate volume rates with Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, FedEx, and DHL so you benefit from our scale.
Special Services
Optional services billed separately: FBA prep, kitting & assembly, custom packaging, returns processing, and inventory audits. All special service rates are disclosed in your custom quote.
Why we don't publish exact rates: 3PL pricing depends on your product dimensions, weight, order velocity, carrier mix, and service requirements. Publishing flat rates would be misleading — and likely wrong for your specific situation. We prefer to give you a precise quote that reflects your actual costs.

Is there a setup fee or onboarding cost?
There is no setup fee for standard integrations (Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce). Onboarding support is included in all tiers. Complex custom integrations or API builds may be scoped separately.
Does CanadiEx charge for storage when my inventory is moving quickly?
Storage is always billed at actual usage — we measure at the end of each month. High-velocity inventory that moves through quickly will naturally incur lower storage costs. We never pad storage charges.
How does CanadiEx pass shipping savings to me?
We negotiate volume rates with all five of our carrier partners. These discounts — typically 30–75% below retail rates — are passed through to you at cost. Our margin comes from service fees, not shipping markups.
Are there any long-term contract requirements?
We offer month-to-month agreements for Starter and Growth clients. Enterprise clients may negotiate annual terms for deeper pricing commitments. We don't believe in trapping clients — we earn retention by delivering results.
How is pricing structured for Amazon FBA prep?
Amazon FBA prep is priced per unit and varies based on the prep type required (labeling only, poly bagging, bubble wrapping, bundling, etc.). Your custom quote will include a full FBA prep rate card tailored to your ASINs.
Can pricing change as my volume grows?
Yes — in your favour. As your monthly order volume increases, your per-unit and per-order rates decrease. We review pricing at each tier transition and proactively offer better rates when your volume warrants it.
